Food. Most people agree that it is responsible for most of the stain headaches we have. Since we can’t be expected to give up food entirely, let’s tackle how to eliminate some of those tough food stains with over 30 years of White Wizard® stain removing magic. Then we’ll move on to some other kinds of stain solutions.

Steps to Eliminate Tough Food Stains

Don’t let tough food stains get the best of you. Follow these steps.

How to Remove Grease or Butter

Light Stains:

  • Pretreat with White Wizard®. Launder using the hottest water safe for the fabric. It will help dissolve the grease or oil.

Heavy Stains:

  • Place stain face down on clean paper towels. Apply White Wizard® to the back of the stain.
  • Replace paper towels under stain frequently.
  • Let dry, rinse. Launder using the hottest water safe for the fabric.

Tomato-Based Sauces

  1. Working from the back of the stain, flush it with cold water.
  2. Pretreat with White Wizard®, using an up-and-down motion with a soft brush to break up the stain.
  3. Rinse well.
  4. Sponge with white vinegar and rinse again.
  5. Repeat, treating the stain with stain remover, then with white vinegar until you’ve removed as much stain as possible.
  6. Launder according to label instructions.

Coffee/Tea

  1. Wick away any excess liquid.
  2. Sponge or soak stain in cool water.
  3. With a clean towel on the back of the stain, apply White Wizard®
  4. Pretreat with White Wizard® and allow to sit for at least 30 minutes before laundering.
  5. Launder according to label instructions.

Berry Juice

For Fabric:

  1. Pretreat stain with White Wizard®.
  2. Launder as recommended on the label.

For Carpet:

  1. Wick away as much liquid as possible with a clean towel.
  2. Saturate the stain with White Wizard® and wick away moisture.
  3. Sponge or soak stain in cool water.
  4. Dab with a dry, clean towel.
  5. Repeat if needed.

Red Wine

For Fabric:

  1. Sponge the stain with cool water or soak it in cool water for about 30 minutes.
  2. Pretreat with White Wizard®.
  3. Launder according to label instructions. If safe for the fabric, add chlorine bleach to the wash.

For Carpet/Upholstery:

  1. Wick as much of the wine as possible.
  2. Spray with a generous amount of White Wizard® and wick away with a clean towel.
  3. Repeat if necessary

Chocolate

  1. When the stain strikes, gently scrape off any excess chocolate.
  2. Soak the item in cool water.
  3. Pretreat with a White Wizard® stain remover.
  4. Launder in the hottest water that’s safe for the fabric.

More Stain Removing Solutions

Food stains aren’t the only stains that are tough to remove. Here are some more stain removing solutions

Blood

  1. Soak the item in cold water and rub the spot with your fingers until the water stops turning pink.
  2. Rinse the garment, blot the stain, and apply White Wizard® stain remover, allowing the item to sit before you wash it.
  3. Launder according to label instructions. Try hydrogen peroxide if the stain isn’t gone, but be careful as this can discolor some fabrics.

Grass

  1. Apply White Wizard® stain remover directly onto the stain and rub the fabric together.
  2. Launder according to label instructions.
  3. After washing, apply a diluted white vinegar solution to remove any color that remains.

Ink

  1. Place a paper towel under the stain, then spray the ink with hairspray.
  2. Let it soak for a few seconds, blot the stain with a clean cloth and repeat this process until the stain is removed.
  3. Launder according to label instructions.

Perspiration

  1. Apply White Wizard® stain remover and allow the item to sit for 30 minutes.
  2. Launder your item in the hottest water recommended with an enzyme detergent and bleach.
  3. To remove any lingering odor, use scented laundry detergent packs to fight set-in odors.

  • For best results, always treat stains as soon as possible.
  • Air dry first to confirm stain is removed.
  • Ensure the stain is removed from the affected area before running the clothing through the dryer to avoid setting the stain.
